Do you believe that our fellow blogger NAY PHONE LATT is sentenced to jail for 20 years for giving a critics about the government in his country Myanmar.  He was jailed for 20 years becuse he post a picture of the general of his country in his blog! He will be staying in jail for 20 years just because having an opinion that against the government in Myanmar.

Those military dictator in Myanmar has gone too much.  First they kept AUNG SAN SU KYII prisoned in her own house without trial and without a chance to make  defence.  And that’s because they think SU KYII can endanger their power.  Now they put a BLOGGER in jail for 20 years just becuse they think his critics in his blogs are insulting and threatened their authority.

To have an opinion is a human right.  To have a different opinion is also a human right.  An who the hell in this world can have such an authority to punish someone for doing his right.

Look at the picture.  There are three signs attached on the wall.  The first sign means “NO SMOKING”, the second “SERUNI ROOM”, and the last one says “DAHLIA ROOM : PERINATOLOGY” Yes, the picture is taken in a hospital.

How often do you see people smoking under the “no smoking” sign?  How many hospitals allow people to smoke in inside its area in your place?

What happen in your country if you smoke in a non smoking area? How much it will cost you in your country if you smoke in the hospital?

Well in my country nothing’s gonna happen to you if you smoke under the sign that says “no smoking”.  Even better, you’ll find some “friends” who will eagerly join you smoking.   The worst thing you will face when doing such thing is being shouted by the security guard.  That’s all and it’s not a common case either.  You won’t get fined and you won’t get jailed to smoke under the “no smoking” sign.

Smoking in a hospital area is not an unusual think to find in my country.  The only place where you will never find people smoking is inside the ICU and inside the operating room.  You can find people smoking anywhere else.  Even the doctors and the nurses smoke in their office or changing room.

 

What do you think about this cartoon? For me it kind of reminding me about my habit when I was in college.  I used to take  a bottle or two sachets of energy drink the night before having an examination.  I’m a lazy student.  Examination is my only motivation to study.  That’s why the night before examination means a stack of books, and an open eye for the rest of the night.  I was very thankful to God for creating something like caffeine at that time, because in a normal condition books works better than a sleeping pill.

Do you afraid of death? why?

For me, death is the most horrible thing.  Not only my death, but also the death of people I loved. Well, I know that at the end it’s no use to afraid of death, no one lives forever. Anyway, I still afraid of death. I’ve been thinking for quite a long time to figure it out why.  At first I think what makes me afraid of death is simply because I don’t know what will happen after I die.  Will I reincarnate to another life? will I see the angels? Is there really heaven and hell? What will I be, what’s gonna happen to me? Will there be something good or terrible happen tome after I die? Will I ever meet my beloved family and friend? I never can figure the answer of all those question.  So actually I’m afraid because I don’t’ know. That "I don’t know" is the thing that I’m actually afraid of. That "I don’t know" means there’s not only good but also bad thing can happen to me after I die, and I don’t want meet any bad thing that awaits me in the other side. I wouldn’t mind if i must go to heaven after I die.  I wouldn’t mind to die if I can meet again all those people I love.  I wouldn’t mind if there’s joy waiting upon me when I die. But what if I must go to hell?What if I have to lose those people I love forever?what there’s only sorrow that waits upon me?

So you see the thing that makes me afraid of death is actually my selfishness.  I wouldn’t mind to die if there’s only good things awaits me in front.  But how can I be sure about it? cause there may also be bad things that stays to see me. That is why I’m afraid of death actually.  Not the Death itself, but simply because I am selfish.

Is working a burden to you? Well, for most people, sometime it is.  Sometime we do our job only because we have to,we need to, our live depend on it, not because I love it, I enjoy it.  That’s why we often feel unsatisfied with what we got from our job.  We often feel tortured with our job. I’ve seen so many people becoming stress because of their job. They often can not avoiding it, because they need it to earn a living.  Each days of work becomes hell for them.

So what should we do to avoid being like them? Well, it’s simply by enjoying our job.  Before you take a job, give yourself a time to make a thinking’s. Do you like the job? Will the job suite your heart?

Ability to speak in English is have becoming a must in our society these days.  With the globalization waiting a head  us, it is important to have an ability to communicate with other people from around the world. English is an international language, it means one means to communicate with others around the world is using English.  There are also other international language such as french, germany, arabic.  But English is still the most universal language in the world.

To bad, many of our people are not English literate.  This is something that we have to improve in order to face the globalization.  If this condition just keep going as it is, our country will be left behind. 

So let’s start to improve our English ability.  The first step is like Qoran  sez: "IQRA'’ which means read.  There are many books,stories, news, songs, articles that written in English.  Read them, if there’s any words you do not understand look in the dictionary.  If you can’t find in the dictionary then ask someone.  This way you’ll improving your vocabulary, the very basic thing you need in learning English.

The second thing is try to speak in English, even if it means you have to speak half English half Bahasa.  Try to use English in your daily conversation. Don’t be shy to make mistake.  Don’t afraid to look funny.  If you have a foreigner friend it would be even better.  With trying to speak in English you learn how to pronounce the words in English.  You also make your ears get used to others pronounciation.

The third thing is try to write in English.  It’s more difficult than reading ang speaking in English.  Writing has so many rules, and it would be very clear to other people when you make a mistake.  But no need to worry because experience is the best teacher.  Remember it’s human to make mistake.
